ATLANTA, Ga. – The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and State Farm® announced today the 2011 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team. SCAC Player-of-the-Year Maggie Prewitt of Centre College was an Honorable Mention selection.

The 10-member All-America team was selected by a vote of the selection committee. The committee is comprised of one representative from each of the eight geographical regions and a chairperson.

Prewitt led the SCAC in assists with 112 (4.31 per game) and was also in the top 10 in the league in scoring (18.9 points per game - second), free throw percentage (80.9 percent - fifth), three-point field goal percentage (43.1 percent - second) and three-point field goals made (59 – fifth). Just a junior, her 1,277 career points already constitute the second-highest total by any Centre player in the SCAC era – behind former teammate Chelsea Goodman (1,365).

Prewitt, who was one of 30 WBCA Honorable Mention selections and the only SCAC player to receive recognition, is the first Centre women's basketball player to earn conference Player-of-the-Year honors since current head coach Wendie Austin-Robinson won back-to-back POTY awards in 1992-1993 and 1993-1994.
