Trinity's Piske; Warren named SCAC Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Senior field jumper George Warren and sophomore distance runner Taylor Piske of Trinity University has been named SCAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week after impressive performances this past weekend.

 

 

 

 

 

SCAC TRACK ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK
Events through Sunday, February 23rd

TAYLOR PISKE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Richardson, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Track Athlete-of-the-Week for meets through Sunday, February 23rd.

Piske opened the outdoor season with a strong showing at the Trinity Open on Saturday afternoon.

Piske took first in the 10,000 meter run in the home meet, reaching the finish line in a personal best time of 32:29.70, which was less than a second from Trinity's best time from in the event from a year ago.  

Piske finished second at last fall's SCAC Cross Country Championships, leading the Tigers to their second consecutive conference title.  Piske also earned All-Region honors by finishing 22nd at the South/Southeast Regional Championship.

 

SCAC FIELD ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK

GEORGE WARREN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Georgetown, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Field Athlete-of-the-Week for meets through Sunday, February 23rd.

Warren led the Tigers in their opening meet of the outdoor season on Saturday, earning a solid mark at the Trinity Open.

Warren finished second with a successful jump of 2.03 meters in the high jump in his first action in outdoor track this season. Warren equaled the winner of the event in height, but was edged on number of misses for the individual title.

In addition to his strong performance in the high jump, Warren also competed in the 4x400 relay, the discus throw, and the javelin throw in the meet.
