Colorado College’s Chupik; Southwestern’s Wood; Trinity’s Culberson Earn SCAC Swimmers-of-the-Week Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.Colorado College sophomore Colin Chupik, Southwestern (Texas) University junior Kyler Wood, and Trinity (Texas) University junior Stephen have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Swimmers-of-the-Week for Week Three of the 2013-14 Men's Swimming season.

 

 

 

SCAC MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Sunday, November 10

Colin Chupik of Colorado College, a sophomore from Bainbridge Island, Wa., Kyler Wood of Southwestern University, a junior from Leander, Texas, and Stephen Culberson of Trinity University, a junior from Sugar Land, Texas, have been selected the SCAC Men's Swimmers-of-the-Week for all meets through Sunday, November 10.

Chupik
won the 200 fly (2:02.3), was third in the 100 freestyle (49.80), and split 23.68 fly on the medley relay in Colorado College's dual against Colorado School of Mines.

Chupik
also picked up a new event this weekend, going 2:03.60 in the 200 IM.

Wood
split on the 400M relay with a time of 58.98 in the 100BR against McMurry.

Wood
won in the 200 yard BR with a time of 2:13.48, and on the 200 freestyle relay he led off with a 21.75 race time.

Culberson
led Trinity's men to a 143 to 130 dual meet win over The University of Texas at Permian Basin this past Saturday.

Competing in Midland, Texas, Culberson took the 200 freestyle with a 1:48.67 and the 100 freestyle with a 48.32 - excellent swims coming off a five hour bus trip. He was the lead-off leg on the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 21.70 in a meet that went down to the wire. Culberson jumped the Tigers into a quick lead and then watched teammates Adam Thomas, Daniel Stroe, and Isaac Johnson seal the deal on the team win with a time of 1:28.03.
