Southwestern's Wood, Colorado College's Howlett Named Swimmer and Diver of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Southwestern's Kyler Wood and Colorado College's Austin Howlett have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Swimmer and Diver-of-the-Week, respectively, for Week Seven of the 2013-14 Men's Swimming & Diving season.

 

 

 

 

SCAC MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Sunday, December 8th

KYLER WOOD OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Georgetown, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Swimmer-of-the-Week for all meets through Sunday, December 8th.

Wood broke two school records over the weekend and earned a pair of NCAA B cuts at the UALR Christmas Invitational.

Wood grabbed his first mark on Friday in the 100-yard breaststroke earning a fourth place finish. Wood swam to a time of 57.54 which broke the school record he set last season.

The Georgetown, Texas native grabbed his second school record on Saturday with a third place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke on Saturday. The junior finished with a time of 2:06.12 which also broke his own school record set last season and was his second NCAA B cut of the weekend.

 

SCAC MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Sunday, December 8th

AUSTIN HOWLETT OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior from Makawao, Hawaii., has been selected the SCAC Men's Diver-of-the-Week for all meets through Sunday, December 8th.

At the Colorado Mesa University Invite, Howlett placed second in 3 meter diving, with an NCAA Qualifying score of 477.30.

Howlett has comepeted at the NCAA Championships the last two seasons and is a two time All-American. He is also the two time SCAC Diver of the Year for 2012 and 2013.
