Keaton Bohrmann, Texas Lutheran University, Baseball - Offensive Player of the Week (Week 9)

KEATON BOHRMANN OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior third baseman from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, April 5th.

Bohrmann earns player of the week honors for the second week in a row as the Bulldogs of Texas Lutheran absolutely annihilated Schreiner on the road, winning by a combine score of 45-6. 

For the week, Bohrmann went 10-for-15 (.667) at the plate, finishing with three doubles, a triple, a homerun, and eight RBI to go along with eight runs scored. He slugged an astounding 1.200 from the dish and also added a steal on the basepaths. 

Bohrmann's started teh weekend going 5-for-6 with a double, two RBI, four runs scored, and a steal. He followed that up with a 2-for-4 performance with two RBI and two runs scored.

His biggest game came in the finale, where Bohrmann was one single shy of the cycle, going 3-for-5 with a double, triple, and homerun to finish with eight RBI and two runs scored. 

For the season, Bohrmann is hitting .418 with a .687 slugging percentage. He has eight doubles (fifth in SCAC), two triples (fifth), and two homers (fifth) to go along with 17 RBI and 19 runs scored.  

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore outfielder James Arguello of Austin College had a big weekend at the plate and on the base paths last week, hitting .385 with an on base percentage of .529 while going 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts. Freshman catcher Chris Zapata of Centenary led the team with six hits over the weekend, including a four-hit outing in the 8-4 win over Dallas to clinch the series sweep. His fourth hit in the finale delivered the game winning run. Freshman infielder Chase Allen of Southwestern was smoking hot at the plate through four games, posting a .714 batting average with 10 hits in 14 at bats with two doubles. He had 0 strikeouts and a .857 slugging percentage. He was a perfect 3-3 in SU's 4-3 win over AC on Friday. Junior infielder Carter McEachern of Trinity was on fire all week long, leading the Tiger offense with a .600 (6-10) batting average, as well as tallying three runs and four RBI. He was also walked once and hit by a pitch, posting a .667 on-base percentage. Dallas and Schreiner did not nominate anyone.
