DREW BUTLER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior catcher from Phoenix, Ariz., has been selected the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, March 15th.

Butler led Trinity to a 2-2 overall record last week, including a weekend series win against Centenary College.

For the week, Butler went 6-for-12 at the plate, scoring two runs and driving in three RBI. He also posted a .625 on-base percentage for the week. During the three-game series against Centenary, he hit .600 (6-10) with all three RBI and both runs scored coming over the weekend. He also drew one walk and was hit by a pitch three times for a .714 on-base percentage.

For the season, Butler is third on the team with a .377 batting average, picking up 23 hits in 61 at-bats. He has also scored 10 runs and is tied for the team lead with 20 RBI. His on-base percentage is .437 for the year, which is fourth among Tiger hitters. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore James Arguello of Austin College had a strong weekend at the plate, batting .357 with a .429 slugging percentage, hitting a double and driving in three runs while scoring one more run in a three game series with TLU. Senior designated hitter Luciano Villanueva of Dallas picked up base knocks in four contests, including two in a trio of them. His best display was in an 8-6 victory versus Schreiner University, which ended a 10-game skid. Freshman second baseman Colton Shea of Southwestern went 3-for-4 from the plate in Southwestern's only game of the week, a loss to UMHB. He scored one time. Senior outfielder Tony Gennusa of Texas Lutheran led the team in average, hits, runs, slugging percentage and on-base percentage while ripping his first homer of the season over the weekend, with his solo shot helping the Bulldogs to a 7-3 win in the middle of the series vs. Austin College. Centenary and Schreiner did not nominate anyone.
