SCAC Announces 2024 Men's Tennis All-Tournament Team

SUWANEE, Ga. – On the heels of 10th-ranked Trinity picking up its 14th straight conference championship late last month, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2024 SCAC Men’s Tennis All-Tournament team Monday afternoon. Complete Release

The Tigers secured a 5-3 victory over the Pirates to capture the program’s 28th overall men’s tennis title. The three points earned by Southwestern is the most by any program during this current streak of 14-straight titles since 2011 when TU edged out former member DePauw University, 6-3.

No conference program has won more SCAC titles than Trinity men's tennis as the Tigers have participated in all 32 men's tennis finals, winning all but four of them. Southwestern has been in the last nine finals but will have to wait at least one more year for its breakthrough moment.

Tournament Champion Trinity led the way with six different Tigers earning All-Tournament accolades. Rob Chang and Connor Whittington both earned All-Tournament honors for the second consecutive year. Chang and Whittington posted perfect 1-0 records at the No. 3 and No. 2 singles line respectively. Jarred Perry and Aashish Dhanani both earned All-Tournament honors in singles and doubles. Perry was slotted on the team for his efforts at the top singles and doubles line, while Dhanani posted perfect records throughout the tournament at the No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles lines. Perry’s doubles partner, Ethan Flores and Dhanani’s partner, Conor Kaczmarczyk joined them on the squad to round out the TU Tiger honoree.

Southwestern’s Ryan Flanagan was named to the team for the second consecutive tournament after posting a perfect 2-0 record at the No. 6 singles line. Travis Rafferty, Bernardo Clemente and Parth Patel all secured All-Tournament team certificates for the first time in their careers. Rafferty earned accolades at No. 4 singles and the team of Clemente and Patel impressed at No. 2 doubles with a perfect 3-0 record to earn honors.

Other student-athletes returning to the All-Tournament Tennis squad include Schreiner’s Max Schechter (No. 2 Doubles) and Jonathan Barragan (No. 2 Singles) who are both making their third appearance on the team. In addition, Colorado College’s Aiden Little (No. 3 Singles) and Schreiner’s Carson Kirk (No. 1 Singles) are both making their second career All-Tournament team.
