MARIANA HINOJOSA OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a sophomore oatcher/infielder from Katy, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Hitter-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 22 through Sunday, April 28. SCAC Softball Release - Week 12

Hinojosa powered the Crusaders to their first series win of the season on the road at Schreiner. The sophomore led the team with a .538 average, which included two triples and two runs scored and she drove in eight of the team's 30 runs scored over the course of the three game series.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore infielder Caelee Clark of Texas Lutheran broke the NCAA Division-III single-season stolen base record and now has 78 on the season. The sophomore stole four bases in a single-game while recording her first career five-hit game against the Celts, hitting .538 in the lead-off spot in the Bulldogs sweep of the Celts to secure their 10th straight regular season title. First-year second baseman Samantha Tagawa led Trinity led the Tigers to a three-game SCAC weekend series sweep at Centenary, securing the #2 seed for the upcoming SCAC Tournament. Tagawa batted .500 (4-for-8) with three runs scored and five RBI, while also drawing four walks for an OBP of .615, and swiping a pair of stolen bases. She scored a pair of runs and had both steals in the first game of the Saturday DH, then finished off the sweep by going 3-for-4 with four RBI in the second game of the day. Junior infielder Meghan McCarthy of Southwestern went 7-for-10, with two doubles and a home run and drove in a four runs as the Pirates locked down the fourth seed in the upcoming SCAC Softball Tournament with a three-game sweep of Austin College .Junior catcher/utility Bridgette Montes of Schreiner batted .667 (8-12) with one double, one triple, four RBI and six runs scored as the Mountaineers dropped two of three to Dallas in the team's conference season finale. She also stole two bases.
