REX SOULLIERE OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a first-year golfer from Omaha,Neb., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition from Wednesday, March 2 through Tuesday, March 8. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 3)
Soulliere shot rounds of 76 and 74 to finish atop the leaderboard with a +6 (150) at the Schreiner Spring Shootout at Comanche Trace Golf Club in Kerrville. After sitting in fourth place after round one, Soulliere forced a playoff - tying Concordia’s Jorge Arnaud for first place - before falling on the first playoff hole.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Chase Maus of Texas Lutheran finished tied for third with a two-round score of 151 - just one shot off the lead - at the Schreiner Spring Shootout. Junior Christian Rodriguez of Southwestern was also tied for third after firing rounds of 77 and 74 at the Schreiner Spring Shootout. Junior Jake Sitterle of Schreiner had the low round of the day, firing a 72 on Tuesday, to finish at 153 and a tie for seventh as a member of the host school. Senior Cade Kiser of St. Thomas finished in 11th alone after rounds of 78 and 76 (154) at Comanche Trace. Junior Zac Buncher of Trinity paced the Tigers with a 15th place finish (81-76--157) at the Schreier Spring Shootout.
