Five from SCAC named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Softball Teams

ITHACA, N.Y. - Led by first-team selections Jennifer McKinley and Laura Litton of Millsaps College, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference placed five student-athletes on the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Softball teams, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America this afternoon.

McKinley, a senior from Frisco, Texas, was named to the District VI first-team after maintaining a 3.62 Grade Point Average as a biology major. Fellow teammate Litton, a junior from Collierville, Tenn. carried a perfect 4.0 GPA as an accounting major.

The DePauw trio of Megan Soultz, Rachel MacBeth and Ashley Anton were also honored for their athletic and academic achievements.

Soultz, a senior from Carmel, Ind., tallied a 3.60 GPA as a biology major. A sophomore from Indianapolis, Ind., MacBeth carried a near perfect 3.97 GPA as a biochemistry major. Both Soultz and MacBeth were named to the District V second-team.

Anton, a junior from Worth, Ill., was named to the District V third-team where she maintained a 3.52 GPA as an East Asian studies and communication major.
