JAMES SAPP OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior forward from Shongaloo, La., has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, February 19th.

Sapp had a great senior night, pouring in 29 points on 8-of-18 shooting and a 12-for-13 mark from the free throw line.

Sapp also pulled down 10 rebounds for a double-double in the game.

In overtime, Sapp went 3-for-4 from the field and hit a pair of free throws to score eight of the Gents' 15 points and lead the team to a 102-98 win.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard Sterling Holmes of Texas Lutheran University scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a senior night win over Southwestern. Senior forward Austin Freet of Austin College scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a narrow loss to Centenary College Saturday night. Junior guard Eric Houska of Colorado College recorded a game-high 26 points in the Tigers win over Dallas Saturday, which helped them earn the No. 2 seed for the conference tournament. Senior guard Michael Sarrat of the University of Dallas ended his career averaging 15.7 points over three games last week for the Crusaders. Junior forward Ryan Ogden of Southwestern University scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the Pirates game against TLU Friday. Guard Matt Jones of Trinity University averaged 12 points in a pair of games against Schreiner last week, helping the Tigers to a 1-1 record.
