ERIC HOUSKA OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior guard from Wilton, Conn., has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, January 15th.

Houska led Colorado College to a pair of road victories last week to help the Tigers maintain their position atop the SCAC standings.

In Friday's 71-69 victory at Centenary College, Houska capped a 22-point performance by hitting the game-winning jumper with one second remaining in regulation. During Sunday's 66-64 win at Austin College, Houska poured in a career-high 28 points as CC overcame a 10-point deficit with 14 minutes remaining in the second half to remain undefeated in conference play. It marked the fourth game in a row and the sixth time this season Colorado College's junior guard finished with 20 or more points.

Houska also dished out four assists and climbed into 10th place on the program's career list with 222.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman guard Austin Wells of Austin College had a strong week for Austin College, averaging 13.3 points and shooting 47.4% from three point range in three games. Senior forward James Sapp of Centenary College matched a season 12 field goals with a season-best 75% shooting percentage in Centenary's 97-81 win against Dallas after he added a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds Friday. Senior guard Jared Thompson of Schreiner University helped lead the Mountaineers to a 1-1 week with 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Senior guard Ben Stiver of Southwestern University averaged a double-double while shooting 63.2% from the floor, 57.1% from three point range. Senior forward Zach Behr of Texas Lutheran University earned Co-Player of the Week honors after averaging 24 points and 5.5 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to a pair of home wins. Junior guard Matt Jones of Trinity University averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.0 steals per contest over the weekend, connecting on 52.4% (11-21) from the field and 66.7% (4-6) from beyond the arc.
