Kameron Moding, Colorado College, Volleyball

KAMERON MODING OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior outside hitter on the women's volleyball team, has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending November 15, 2009.

The Manitou Springs, Colo., resident,  has been as committed to her community service as she has to her volleyball career.

Moding is in her second year as co-chair of Colorado College's Relay for Life, which raised more than $31,000 for the American Cancer Society and will help fund research, advocacy, education and services for patients with all types of cancer.

Her commitment to the event included presiding over bi-weekly meetings and attending the Great West Division Youth Summit Conference which helped crucial committee members to gain planning ideas for their upcoming events.

Moding also served as director of scholarship for Delta Gamma sorority, which sponsored a community service project to assist people who are visually impaired.

Moding has been a resident advisor at Colorado College since 2007 and coached 14-year-olds at the Colorado Crossfire Volleyball Club in her hometown of Manitou Springs, where she served one season as an assistant coach and two more as head coach.
