TRUPTI PATEL
OF OGLETHORPE UNIVERSITY, a junior from Lantana,
Fla., has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female
Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending November 1,
2009.
Patel, who is a co-captain and an outside hitter
on the Petrel volleyball team, is involved in a variety of
off-campus activities.
A recipient of both a YMCA scholarship and Lanier scholarship,
Patel is presently a member of the Chi Omega
Fraternity as well as the Accounting Society. She has also served
on the Panhellenic Council as that group's treasurer.
Patel is a former representative on the Oglethorpe
Student-Athlete Advisory Council and has also served on the
school's Petrel Council.
Currently, Patel helps to coach a youth volleyball
team in the surrounding community.
