AIDAN WARREN OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a junior outfielder from Dripping Springs, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, April 24 through Sunday, April 30. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 12
Warren had a showstopping regular season finale last weekend, leading the Mountaineers at the plate in a non-conference win over Sul Ross St. and conference series win against Dallas. Warren hit .600, going 9-for-15 with nine RBI, eight runs scored, two home runs, three doubles and two triples. In the second game last weekend he went 5-for-5 at the plate and hit one home run as well. He had an on-base percentage of .667 and registered a 1.467 slugging percentage over the four games.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior catcher Holden Philippus of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs baseball team to a three-game sweep over SCAC foe Southwestern to close out the regular season last weekend. Philippus hit .667 (6-for-9) for the week with five runs scored and three RBI. He had one triple among his six hits and had an OBP of .786 for the three games. First-year first baseman Collin Pitts of Centenary led the Gents to a perfect 4-0 record last week, including a three-game sweep against Austin College. Pitts hit .667 (10-for-15) with four runs scored and six RBI. Pitts smashed two doubles among his ten hits and posted OBP of .667 for the four games. Senior utility Ezra Gore of Trinity batted .385 (5-for-13) to lead the Tigers to a 2-1 record at St. Thomas to close out the regular season schedule and secure the second seed at the upcoming SCAC Tournament. Sophomore catcher James Vaquero of Southwestern led the Pirates to a 2-3 record last week, including wins over Austin College and UT-Dallas. Vaquero hist .450 (9-for-20) with two runs scored and two RBI.
