Ebony Campbell Named Schreiner Women's Soccer Head Coach

KERRVILLE, Texas -- 
Ebony Campbell has been named the new Head Women's Soccer Coach for Schreiner University by Director of Athletics, Bill Raleigh. 

"Coach Campbell brings an energy and excitement to our Women's Soccer team and I am looking forward to her building a program the whole university will celebrate" said Raleigh. "Coach Campbell has the balance between academics and athletics that will help our student-athletes excel in the classroom and positively represent Schreiner University on the field."

"I'd like to thank Bill Raleigh for giving me the opportunity to lead the Women's Soccer program at Schreiner University. This program has the foundation and support by the Athletic Department to be successful and I'm excited to get started" said Campbell. "I'm looking forward to getting to know the team and lead them on and off the field. I hope to set the standard for women's soccer to be a strong competitor in the SCAC."

Campbell comes to the Mountaineer program from Barton College in Wilson, NC where she served as the Head Developmental Coach and Assistant Women's Soccer Coach. Included in her duties as the assistant, Campbell had direct leadership of the Developmental team, organized and ran all goalkeeper training sessions as well as administrative duties within the athletic department. In the 2019 season the Bulldogs went 12-6-1 earning the third seed in the Conference Carolinas league and finished their season in the semifinals of the conference tournament. Campbell coached four members of the Barton College Women's Soccer team to All-Conference honors.

Before Barton College, Campbell spent the 2018 season as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Susquehanna University in Selingsgrove, PA where they won the Landmark Conference Championship. The River Hawks went 13-3-4 ending their season with a loss in penalty kicks to RIT in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. In 2017, Campbell served as the Men's and Women's Assistant Soccer Coach and Goalkeeper Coach for both programs as Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, IA.

Along with her collegiate coaching experiences, Campbell has served as a coach for Wilson Youth Soccer Association, Berkshire Soccer Academy, North Union United Soccer Club, Iowa Rush Soccer Club and was the Assistant Girls Varsity Soccer Coach at Spoto High School in Riverview, FL.

Campbell graduated from UT Permian Basin in 2016 with a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies after earning her Associates degree in Elementary Education from Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa in 2014. In the fall of 2020, Campbell will earn her Master of Sports Administration – Coaching and Leadership Education from Upper Iowa University. Campbell holds her U.S. Soccer Federation National E & F License and a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level I, II, and III Diploma.
