TLU's Spencer,  Colorado College's McDowell Named SCAC Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Senior track sprinter Vanecia Spencer of Texas Lutheran University and sophomore field athlete Terra McDowell of Colorado College have been named SCAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week after impressive performances this past weekend.

 

 

 

 

 

SCAC TRACK ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK
Events through Sunday, March 9th

VANECIA SPENCER OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior from Grandview, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Track Athlete-of-the-Week for meets through Sunday, March 9th.

Spencer led the way to a second palce finish in the 400 with a time of 58.07 at the Tarleton State Invitational. Spencer's mark as the best of her season thus far as she also earned the top spot among Division III athletes in the event. 

Spencer and the Bulldogs had an excellent all-around showing this past weekend against scholarship athletes.

 

SCAC FIELD ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK

TERRA McDOWELL OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore from Billings, Mont., has been selected the SCAC Field Athlete-of-the-Week for meets through Sunday, March 9th.

McDowell had an excellent week to lead the Tigers to an outstanding meet at the UNLV Classic in Las Vegas, Nev.

McDowell jumped 15’ 1¼ inches in the long jump to earn fourth place on the current SCAC Performance list and followed that up with a 34' 11 inch jump in the triple jump to place her second on the SCAC Performance List. Additionally, she ran a 17.52 in the 110 hurdles to earn second place on the SCAC Performance List.
