TLU's Anderson, Landry Earn SCAC Women's Track and Field Players of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Senior track athlete Monique Anderson and senior field athlete Kristyna Landry of Texas Lutheran University have been named SCAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week after impressive performances this past weekend.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SCAC TRACK ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK
Events through Sunday, April 6th

MONIQUE ANDERSON OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior from Houston, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Track Athlete-of-the-Week for meets through Sunday, April 6th.

Anderson improved on her NCAA Division III top-ranked times in the 100 and the 200.

Anderson finished third in the 100 and third in the 200 at the Islander Dash as she clocked a season-best time of 12.06 seconds in the 100 and a season-best time of 24.77 in the 200.

Both times by Anderson are at the top of the NCAA DIII list for reported times in the events. Anderson, a five-time NCAA DIII All-American, is a former outdoor NCAA DIII All-American in both events.

 

SCAC FIELD ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK

KRISTYNA LANDRY OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior from Beaumont, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Field Athlete-of-the-Week for meets through Sunday, April 6th.

Landry put herself in good position for her first NCAA DIII Championship qualification with a throw of 140 feet, 7 inches Saturday in the discus. Landry moved up the national rankings, from 16th to sixth, with the new personal best.

At the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander Dash, Landry's discus performance produced a second-place finish. Landry finished nearly seven feet ahead of third-place performer as she was competing against many scholarship athletes.
