SCAC announces Spring 2011 Student-Athlete Academic Honor RollJune 23, 2011SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) named a record 1,109 student-athletes to the 2011 SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll on Thursday. This year's total eclipsed last year's previous record of 1,077 student-athletes.

Major Changes for the SCAC Following 2011-12 Academic YearJune 07, 2011SUWANEE, Ga. – In an expected announcement made today at the annual spring meeting of the league’s Board of Directors, the Presidents of Birmingham-Southern College, Centre College, Hendrix College, Millsaps College, Oglethorpe University, Rhodes College and Sewanee-The University of the South declared their intent to withdraw from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference effective June 30, 2012.

Oglethorpe Tabs Nester as Next Head Women’s Basketball CoachMay 03, 2011ATLANTA, Ga. - The Oglethorpe University athletics department is pleased to announce the hiring of Aaron Nester to the position of head women’s basketball coach, effective immediately. Nester, who has spent the last five seasons as the assistant coach at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, brings a total of nine years experience at the Division III level to the Stormy Petrel women’s basketball program.

Women's Basketball Recap (Week 13) - Around the SCACFebruary 21, 2011SUWANEE, Ga. - Facing a winner-take-all situation on Sunday, Colorado College's Alyssa Aldaz scored 14 points in her final home appearance to help CC defeat Millsaps College, 64-56, to claim the fourth seed from the West. Becky Luetjen finished with 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds to move up to eighth place on Colorado College's all-time scoring list with 1,097 points and up to 12th place with 577 rebounds. The Tigers won all seven conference games at Reid Gymnasium this year.

Women's Basketball Recap (Week 11) - Around the SCACFebruary 08, 2011SUWANEE, Ga. - DePauw, Centre, Rhodes and Oglethorpe have made claim to all four spots in the SCAC Tournament out of the Eastern Division with seeding still to be determined. Hendrix currently leads the Western Division behind a six game winning streak however all four spots are open and everyone in the west is still in position to make it to Jackson, setting up for an exciting final two weekends of regular season play.
