LINDSEY LONGUET OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a freshman pitcher from Missouri City, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Co-Pitcher of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 9th. She is joined by Texas Lutheran's Maitlin Raycroft as Co-Pitchers of the Week.

Longuet led the Pirates to 3-1 series win over Centenary College, securing them a trip to the 2017 SCAC Softball Tournament. The Pirates moved into second place in the league standings after this weekend.

Longuet didn't give up an earned run in her three complete game performances. She recorded two shutouts and allowed just 13 hits in 21.0 innings, while striking out 14 batters. She held the Ladies' offense to a batting average of .186.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior pitcher Maitlin Raycroft of Texas Lutheran University recorded her seventh no-hitter of the season as she picked up a pair of wins last week to push the Bulldogs win streak to 30 games. Raycroft struck out 18 batters in 11.0 innings of work, while giving up just two hits. Senior pitcher Katie Castillon of Trinity University was 2-1 with a 3.82 ERA for the week, but saved her best performances for a key weekend series against the 'Roos. Castillon picked up a pair of complete-game wins in both of her starts on the weekend, allowing just three earned runs in 14 innings pitched for a 1.50 ERA.
