CHANDLER SMITH OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore pitcher from Spring, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played through February 26th.
Smith had a complete game shutout in the Pirates' second game against Concordia University (TX), scattering four hits in five innings of work.
Smith allowed no runs in the game, while tallying a pair of strikeouts and just one extra base hit.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Lauren Galvan of the University of Dallas made her first collegiate start, going seven complete innings and limiting Jarvis Christian to just two runs in a 3-2 Crusaders' victory.
