MAITLIN RAYCROFT OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior pitcher from Spring, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played through Monday, March 13. It is the second consecutive week, and third time this season, Raycroft has received Pitcher-of-the-Week honors.

Raycroft tossed her third consecutive no-hitter in a five-inning 8-0 win over Schreiner on Sunday. She followed that performance with a two-hit shutout Monday of the Mountaineers, extending her scoreless inning streak to 24.

Raycroft struck out nine in her no-hitter and added six more Ks in the two-hit shutout. She walked just one batter in 10 innings of work.

Her three no-hitters this season is already tied for the seventh most in a single season in Division III history. The all-time single-season record is five. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman right-hander Lauren Galvan of Dallas propelled the Crusaders to a series win (3-1) against Trinity to begin conference play with complete game outings. On Saturday, the freshman pitched a shutout with while scattering eight hits and walked and struck out one. The next day, Galvan held onto a one-run lead the last two innings for a 3-2 victory to give Dallas its first three wins in the series. The right-hander steered around 10 hits and only allowed one earned run. She walked one and struck out a pair. Freshman right-hander Nadia Netek of Southwestern picked up a win in three appearances as the Pirates faced off against Austin College in SCAC play. Netek totaled 10.0 innings in the circle, allowing just two hits, two runs, no earned runs while striking out eight and walking one. She picked up the win in Saturday's run-ruled shortened 13-1 win against the 'Roos. Senior right-hander Katie Castillon of Trinity went 1-1 in two appearances against Dallas over the weekend, tallying 14 strikeouts in 12 innings, and sporting a 1.75 ERA. Her three-hit shutout in the series finale helped Trinity avoid the weekend sweep.
