SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College senior softball player
Stefanie Faith made history in the team’s doubleheader
against Texas Wesleyan University on Wednesday night, belting the
29th home run of her career to put her atop the all-time Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference career leader board. Faith reached
the mark in just 109 games, well ahead of the previous record
holder.
Faith, a first baseman from Rowlett, moved to within one of the all-time record last season and tied the mark in her first at-bat of the 2011 season. In the first game against Texas Wesleyan, Faith launched a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning to break the record.
