Centre and Colorado College men; Rhodes women compete at 2010 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships

WAVERLY, Iowa - The Colorado College men placed 30th and the Centre College men were 32nd while the Rhodes College women finished 31st on a mostly sunny but breezy and cool day at the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships hosted by Wartburg College. Colorado College was paced by SCAC Runner-of-the-Year, junior Jackson Brainerd, who ran 25:29.0 and finished 105th. Centre senior Clinton Cahall was three places ahead of Brainerd in 102nd in a time of 25:28.1 to lead the Colonels. DePauw University's sophomore Noah Droddy had the fastest time among SCAC runners, placing 68th in a time of 25:16.8.

Haverford was also the overall team winner of the men's meet with a score of 87. North Central (Ill.) was second after posting a score of 104 and St. Lawrence took third place with 137 points. Senior Anders Hulleberg from Haverford was the overall individual winner, finishing the race in a time of 24:22.

On the women's side, Rhodes College was led by junior Taylor Stephens, who placed 69th among all individuals and fastest among all SCAC runners with a finishing time of 22:11.0.  First-year runner Rosemary Steup of Trinity University cracked the top 100 and finished 87th (22:19.9).

Middlebury College was the overall team winner of the women's event with 185 points. Washington (Mo.) took second place with a score of 193 and MIT was third with 214 points.

Senior Wendy Pavlus from St. Lawrence won the women's race with a time of 20.49.
