Anne Waidelich, Trinity Univrersity, Women's Basketball

ANNE WAIDELICH OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior guard on the women's basketball team from Floyd, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending March 3, 2013.

Waidelich was been a key member of the Tigers' championship team that finished first in the conference in both the regular season and at the 2013 conference tournament, helping the team to more than double its win total from a year ago.  

She finished the season averaging 6.6 points and 2.6 rebounds per game, and tied for third on the team in three-point field goals made with 29.  

Outside of basketball, Waidelich was involved in various community service and extracurricular activities, and has been named to the SCAC All-Sportsmanship Team each of the past two seasons.

She has also made the Dean’s List in all seven of her semesters at Trinity, and has earned a spot on the SCAC Honor Roll each of her first three seasons. Waidelich is also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is the Vice President for the Trinity Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Additionally, the senior has been chosen as a Trinity Distinguished Representative to help with prospective students during their visits to campus, and iis also a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society.

Through the SAAC and with the Tiger basketball team, Waidelich has organized several community service projects during her four years at Trinity. She is also a Resident Mentor and a Student Trainer at Trinity, and has made the Trinity Dean’s List for seven different semesters. Following graduation, Waidelich plans to pursue her Master’s degree in Elementary Education at Trinity.
