BRIANA EDWARDS
OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a first-year guard
on the women's basketball team, has been selected the SCAC
Character & Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for
the week ending February 3, 2013.
Edwards, who is a hometown Shreveport product
(Captain Shreve High School), has proven to be successful not only
on the court in her first season at Centenary, but is proving to be
an asset off the floor as well.
The freshman forward has helped in many ways in the Shreveport
community, including running in the Susan G. Komen Race for the
Cure 5K marathon in Bossier City, La., assisted in community
cleanup projects, and tutors on campus.
Edwards also volunteers at a local
children’s church.
