MEG
GREENFIELD OF SOUTHWESTERN
UNIVERSITY, a junior runner on the
women's cross country team from Redmond, Wash., has been
selected the SCAC Character & Community Female
Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending October 21,
2012.
Greenfield was selected to the officer
position of chaplain for Sigma Phi Lambda, charged with the
spiritual direction of the sorority. She speaks in front of the
chapter several times and plans who is going to speak at each
chapter meeting. She assigns each student a prayer partner within
the chapter and organizes covenant groups, which are smaller bible
studies within the chapter. She also leads one of the covenant
groups. Greenfield is also in charge of
planning the retreat for the chapter where members play games,
pray, talk about God, etc.
Greenfield is also a Peer Academic Mentor at
Southwestern, meeting with first-year students one-on-one to
discuss their academic struggles. She provides advice, guidance,
refers to tutors and overall answers any questions they may have.
She has also prepared and run workshops on various topics such as
time management, note-taking, etc.
Finally, Greenfield is a member of SAAC.
