SCAC Women's Golf Fall Recap - Week Six

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - All eight league teams were in action over the final week of fall play, with five of those - Centenary, Dallas, Schreiner, Texas Lutheran and the host school Trinity - competing at the Alamo City Classic at The Quarry Golf Club in San Antonio.

Trinity swept both team and individual medalist honors at its own Alamo City Classic. The Tigers shot a second-round 327 and won the eight-team event with a 642 - finishing 37 strokes in front of second-place Schreiner. Sophomore Raquel Hill carded a final-round 9-over-par 80 and wrapped up the individual title with a 157. She rose from a third-place finish after Monday's round and won the event by one stroke. Freshman Georgia Nunn shot a final-round 82 and completed the tournament with a 160 to tie for third place.

Reygan Rodriguez led Schreiner to its second-place team finish with a two-day total of 160 as the senior finished tied for third (with Trinity's Nunn) after rounds of 78 and 82. The Mountaineers shot a two-day team total of 679 (+111).

Senior Summer Swift placed fifth overall to lead the Texas Lutheran women to a fifth-place finish at the Alamo City Classic. Swift posted an 87 on Tuesday after shooting a 74 on Monday and taking a one-shot lead into the final round. The TLU women finished at 726 (+158), 20 shots behind fourth-place LeTourneau.

The Dallas women's golf team concluded its fall season and finished seventh at the Alamo City Classic. First-year Claire Kirby improved by two shots on the day for a 202 (102-100) to lead the Crusaders. Kirby finished 33rd overall.

The Centenary women's golf team finished in eighth place at the Alamo City Classic. All four members of the Ladies' roster participated in the event with Erin Rostro ascending as Centenary's top finisher - tying for 24th place after shooting rounds of 94-95 for a 189. The Maroon and White shot 393 and 441 to finish at 834 (+266).

The Southwestern women's golf team finished 11th at the prestigious Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational, dropping three places after its worst round of the event at 325 to finish with a combined score of 962. Sophomore Madison Goldberg was the highest-finishing Pirate with a score of 231 after shooting 79 in each of the last two rounds, finishing tied for 13th. 

St. Thomas competed at the Sydney Cox Invitational - hosted by Oklahoma City University - and moved up one spot to finish in the ninth at the 13-team event. After opening with a 342, the Celts bounced back with a team score of 327 to finish at 669 (+93). Sophomore Myra Truong had rounds of 84 and 80 to finish at 164 (+20) and in 41st place.

Senior Ryley Fields led the Johnson & Wales University women's golf team at this past weekend's Revolutionary Classic. Fields followed up Saturday's 118 with a 123 during Sunday's second and final round at Chesapeake Bay Golf Club. Fields finished tied for 40th at +99 for the tournament with a toal of 241. As a team, JWU Denver finshed ninth (505-508-1013) in its final fall event of the season.
