Three From SCAC Named To USTFCCCA All-Academic Women's Teams

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its women's team and individual academic awards on Thursday as Colorado College, the University of Dallas and Trinity University were named All-Academic teams.

The All-Academic teams must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.1 of better. A total of 216 women's team met these requirements. 

Colorado College, coached by Ted Castaneda, totaled a 3.49 team GPA to earn All-Academic laurels. Trinity, coached by Emily Daum, posted a team GPA of 3.46 this season. Dallas head coach Matt Barber and his Crusaders tallied a 3.37 team GPA in earning All-Academic recognition. 

Individually, Colorado College placed five student-athletes on the All-Academic team. First-year undeclared major Jerrica Bauer was joined by senior English major Allison Crimmins, senior elementary education major Stefani Messick, senior English major Katie Sandfort and senior biology major Leah Wessler.

Trinity also placed five individuals on the All-Academic team including sophomore psychology major Natalie Geisler, sophomore neuroscience major Allison Hill, sophomore engineering science major Molly McCullough, first-year biology and art major Laura Taylor and junior biology major Melissa Whitman. 

To earn individual honors, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25 percent at their respective regional.
