MAGGIE EMODI
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior outside hitter from
Omaha, Neb., has been selected the SCAC Volleyball Offensive
Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 28th
through Sunday, November 3rd.
Emodi led Trinity to a 2-2 record at the Emory
Invitational last weekend, sweeping two teams before losing to a
pair of top-10 opponents on the final day.
Emodi paced the Tigers with 60 total kills and
4.00 kills/set for the weekend of action, and even more
impressively, recorded just 12 errors in 150 attacks for a
staggering .320 hitting percentage in her 15 sets played. She
added 28 digs and nine blocks for the weekend as well. She earned
All-Tournament Team honors from her outstanding performance.
In the tournament opener, Emodi had 12 kills and
a .550 hitting percentage to defeat Cortland State, then had 16
kills and nine digs in the loss to #9 Juniata. In the final
match of the weekend, she posted 24 kills and a .328 hitting
percentage against sixth-ranked Emory.
