LYDIA JONES OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer-of-the-Week for meets through Sunday, January 18th.
Jones led Trinity's women to a 176-115 win over in-state SCAC rival Southwestern this past Saturday. She opened the meet with a 28.30 backstroke split leading off Trinity's winning 200 medley relay, and then followed that with a 24.83 win in the 50 freestyle.
After a 20 minute diving exhibition, Jones stepped up and led a 1-2 TU sweep in the 100 freestyle. There she posted an excellent time of 53.93, topping Hagmann's 54.59 clocking. Jones finished the afternoon by helping the Tigers win the 400 freestyle relay to cap off a successful day of racing.
