MALLORY HARKINS OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior defender from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played the week of Monday, October 22nd to Sunday, October 28th.
Harkins was all over the field, seemingly beating Austin College to every 50-50 ball, jumping passing lanes, and winning every ball in the air. She helped pressure the 'Roos by converting each steal into long runs, keying the Pirates' transition attack.
Harkins also had the game-winning assist against the University of Dallas in overtime, winning the ball in the air off the Crusaders' goalie kick near mid-field and quickly making a run and long pass to Luckock for the win.
