KAYCEE BANKERT OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's Golfer of the Week for competitions through Wednesday, March 2nd.
This week, Bankert shot 74-77 and won her first collegiate tournament while also leading the Mountaineers to a team win over both 24th-ranked Trinity and 16th-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor as well as five other teams.
Bankert has been individual runner-up on several occasions, including the 2015 SCAC Championship, but this is the first time she has won a title. Bankert’s 74 placed her in third place after the first day as the team broke the school record with a 306. SU also broke the school 36-hole scoring record by posting a 630.
