KENA COX OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's Golfer of the Week for competitions through September 29.
Cox took ninth place in the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Lady Cru Fall Invitational this week, helping the Mountaineers to a fifth place finish. She posted a two round score of 158 (+14) to take home a top-10 finish in her first ever collegiate competition.
In the second round, Cox began with a triple bogey, but remained even the rest of the way, shooting a 75 and tying a Schreiner women's golf freshman scoring record.
Cox finished ahead of all fellow SCAC golfers competing at the event.
