AUSTIN BROWN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Sunday, October 16th.
Brown placed 68th in a tough field at the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational over the weekend, leading the Tigers to a 18th place finish as a team.
Brown recorded a time of 26:22 in the 8k race, and competed in a field of more than 500 runners.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Mickey Manuszewski of Texas Lutheran University took the overall title at the Southwestern University Invitational, recording a time of 16:40 in the 5k race. Tony Calderon of Colorado College ran a 26:31 at the Lewis & Clark Invitational in the 8k event, taking 18th place overall. Thomas Hogan of the University of Dallas led UD at a home meet, running a 16:39 to finish sixth overall.
