JOHN JAMES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a freshman from Metairie, La., has been selected the SCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Sunday, September 4th.
James led the Crusaders and finished 14th overall at the Bill Libby Invitational hosted by McMurry University, among a field of NCAA Division II, III, NAIA and Junior College runners.
Dallas will return to action on Saturday, September 17 at the Texas Lutheran Bulldog Invitational in Seguin.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Ben Willey of Trinity University ran a personal record of 16:54.08 at the Alamo City Opener where he finished seventh among the field. Freshman Tony Calderon of Colorado College led the Tigers at the Rust Buster hosted by UC-Colorado Springs by placing ninth overall and running the 6k event in a time of 20:51. Freshman Matthew Gregory of Austin College placed 14th at the King Campbell Spectacular, where he posted a time of 10:48.0 on the two-mile course.
