Eight SCAC Golfers Earn WGCA All-American Scholar Recognition

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced today and eight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference student-athletes were recognized.

Overall, a total of 952 women’s collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor.

Texas Lutheran led the conference with three golfers on the list, including sophomore Tarah Cochran and freshmen Summer Swift and Kaley Martin.

Southwestern University and Schreiner University each had two golfers earn recognition. For the Mountaineers, sophomores Piper Gleadhill and Lauren Leslie were honored. Southwestern freshman Leilani McDaniel and sophomore Mikayla Miller were also on the list.

Trinity University rounded out the group with the final SCAC honoree, senior Christine Campbell.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
