JORDAN
ANDERTON OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a
senior setter on the women's volleyball team who
hails from Garland, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Character
& Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week
ending November 14, 2010.
Anderton has been active on the Austin
College campus as well as throughout the Sherman and Dallas/Fort
Worth areas over her time at AC. She has served as a member of the
Student Athlete Advisory Council for two years, and in addition has
taken part in the Austin College Great Days of Service multiple
times, which includes volunteer work with area recreational centers
and working with area youths.
Anderton has also served as a volunteer and mentor
for various youth volleyball camps and leagues throughout the
Dallas/Fort Worth area, working with children ages 12 and younger.
She has also worked as a mentor at Girls, Inc., a Sherman area
center for local school aged girls.
In addition to her various works with area children and her
exceptional talents on the volleyball
court, Anderton is also a standout student as
well, having recently been named as an ESPN Academic All-District 6
member.
