CHRISTINA
HADLY OF SOUTHWESTERN
UNIVERSITY, a sophomore cross country
runner from Plano, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Character
& Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week
ending September 12, 2010.
Hadly is the Delta Delta Delta Chapter
Correspondent working to plan events within the
community and increase their presence on campus. She
is also a member of the Student Foundation that was
responsible for planning the Pirate Bike Fundraiser, Spring
Stright Talk with upper-level administrators, the Homecoming
Concert and Parade and annual SING! competition.
This past summer, Hadly interned with Preservation
Dallas working to develop a database of 200 historic
neighborhoods in Dallas. She contacted and interviewed
neighborhood and preservation activists to gather histories as
well as created a network to inform
constituents when threats to historic homes arose.
Through her athletic participation Hadly also
serves as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
and has been instrumental in increasing awareness and
excitement for Pirate athletics through events and supporting
the initatives of the athletic department.
