BEN CARROLL OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior on the men’s tennis team from Evansville, In., has been selected as the SCAC Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending April 15, 2012.
Carroll is pursuing his degree in Business Administration, with concentrations in Finance and Management. He is a team captain for the Tiger men’s team this season, and has helped lead Trinity to the NCAA Quarterfinals the past two seasons.
Off the court, Carroll is involved in a number of activities and organizations at Trinity. He is a Founding Father of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Trinity, which was the first nationally-affiliated Greek organization on the campus. Carroll has been an active member of the Rush Committee the past three years, and has participated in numerous community service projects. With PKA, Carroll has been involved in Habitat for Humanity, as well as both the San Antonio and International Children’s Shelters.
Carroll received the Trinity University Alumni Association Award for Outstanding Service, as well as the CASE ASAP District 4 Outstanding Student Leader Award. He is a co-chair of the Trinity Student Ambassadors, which recently won the CASE ASAPA District 4 Outstanding Organization Award under his leadership.
When back in Indiana, Carroll has spent his summers as a tennis instructor with the Evansville Community Tennis Association and the Tri-State Athletic Club.
