Elton Skipper, Austin College, Football

ELTON SKIPPER OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a junior from Azle, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending October 9, 2011.

Skipper is a defensive lineman on the Kangaroo football team, and, in addition to his commitment and hard work on the gridiron, has been an active member of the Austin College community since arriving on campus.

Skipper is involved with the Austin College Service Station, through which he works as a tutor for elementary school students in math and reading. This is the second year he has been involved with helping local children through this service.

In addition to his work within the community, Skipper is in his second year as a Resident Advisor, and last year he was named the Community Builder of the Year at the RA banquet. He is also a Dean’s List student, posting a 4.0 GPA in the spring of 2011 while majoring in biology. 

Skipper plans on attending a physician’s assistant school after graduating from Austin College.
