Eight From SCAC Named To USTFCCCA Women's All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Eight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) women's cross county student-athletes were named to the 2012 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic teams, the organization announced.

A total of 201 student-athletes represent the 104 institutions that compose the group. 

Trinity University placed a league-high four student-athletes on the team, followed by Colorado College with three. Southwestern University had one honoree.

Trinity's Jessica Pagano and Rosemary Steup (pictured above) were honored for the second consecutive year. The duo were joined on this year's squad by teammates Jessie Dean and Nicola Hill.

The Colorado College trio of Erin Morrow, Jamie Peng and Jessica Steinsiek were honored as was Lilly Durate of Southwestern University.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the most-recent semester and placed in the top 35 at the NCAA Regional Championships.
