  • Five SCAC teams earn AVCA honors

    LEXINGTON, Ky. - Five Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) volleyball programs earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award honors, the AVCA announced. Birmingham-Southern, Colorado College, DePauw, Rhodes and Trinity all earned the honor.
  • Dombrowski steps down as Sewanee Volleyball Coach

    SEWANEE, Tenn. - Joe Dombrowski has stepped down as Sewanee's head volleyball coach after finishing his fourth season as Sewanee's head volleyball coach in 2008. He also assisted with Sewanee's track and field program while on the Mountain and is planning to pursue career opportunities beyond college athletics.

  • Two Trinity Student-Athletes Earn Postgraduate Scholarships

    SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Two Trinity University senior student-athletes have been selected to receive the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics. Emily Loeffler was awarded the ethnic minority scholarship and Megan Guest received the women's award.

    SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) named a record 776 student-athletes to the 2008 SCAC Fall Academic Honor Roll on Tuesday. This year's total eclipsed last year's previous record of 715 student-athletes. Since its inception in the fall of 1997, over 13,700 student-athletes have achieved recognition for their contributions in the classroom.

Colorado College, Southwestern University and Trinity University made the field, making the third consecutive year that the league has sent three or more teams to the tournament.

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association named Meredith Ballard its Division III National Player of the Week for her performance at least weekend’s Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Central-West crossover matches. Ballard joins former Tiger All-American Sarah Boyles as the only CC players to earn the award since its inception in 1998.
