NICOLE WILSON AND MARANDA KAHL OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY have been named the SCAC Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Monday, Feb. 26 through Sunday, March 4. Wilson is a senior from Highland Village, Texas, and Kahl is a senior from Sherman, Texas.

Playing at No. 3 doubles, Wilson and Kahl picked up the only win of the evening for the Pirates against No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, winning 8-6 at #3 doubles. The duo were down 1-6 before coming back to pick up the point.

"Nicole and Maranda remained composed coming down from 1-6 to take it  8-6," said Southwestern head coach Billy Porter. "That swing gave us a huge shot of energy going into singles."

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Juniors Kara Miller and Katie Smith of Schreiner University went 2-1 on the week at No. 1 doubles, picking up victories against University of the Ozarks (8-2) and Hendrix College (9-7). The duo dropped a 8-5 decision to NAIA's Texas A&M-Texarkana.
