DIANA CARVAJALINO AND ANNA SERGIOVANNI OF AUSTIN COLLEGE have been named the SCAC Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week for matches played through Sunday, February 11th. Carvajalino is a sophomore from Hurst, Texas and Sergiovanni is a sophomore from Richardson, Texas.
The duo posted a pair of wins last week at the top line to lead the 'Roos to a 1-1 record to open their spring season.
In the team's match against Hardin-Simmons University, Carvajalino and Sergiovanni defeated Michaela Ellison and Kyra Mobley, 8-3. They followed that up with an 8-6 win over Sam Ritz and Claire Huffine of McMurry University.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Seniors Joni Baxley and Alli McLain of Texas Lutheran University teamed up to win 8-4 at No. 1 doubles for the Bulldogs against the University of the Ozarks. Sophomore Mary Cardone and junior Anna Schneemann of Southwestern University posted an 8-0 win in their only doubles competition last week, defeating the top pair from Sul Ross State University.
