Trinity's Jones, Heline Named SCAC Swimmer/Diving of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Trinity (Texas) University sophomores Lydia Jones and Ashley Heline have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Swimmer and Diver-of-the-Week, respectively, for Week Five of the 2013-14 Women's Swimming & Diving season.

 

 

 

 

SCAC WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Sunday, November 24th

LYDIA JONES OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, has been selected the SCAC Women's Swimmer-of-the-Week for all meets through Sunday, November 24.

Jones had an excellent weekend while attending the Tiger Western Shootout in Southlake, Texas.

Jones posted an SCAC leading time of 1:58.49 in the 200 freestyle along with solid performances in the 50 freestyle (25.25), the 100 freestyle (54.63), and the 100 backstroke (1:01.66).  She was also Trinity's mainstay on several SCAC leading relay teams, clocking a 24.03 and a 53.19 on the freestyle legs of Trinity's 200 medley and 400 medley relays.  

Jones was the lead-off swimmer on Trinity's 1:41.29 200 freestyle relay and rolled a 54.62 on their 400 freestyle relay, which touched home with a 3:41.96.

 

SCAC WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Sunday, November 24th

ASHLEY HELINE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Highlands Ranch, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Women's Diver-of-the-Week for all meets through Sunday, November 24.

Heline won both the women's 1-meter and  3-meter diving events at the Tiger Western Shootout in Southlake, Texas, beating out several divers from Oklahoma Baptist and Henderson State University.

Heline won the low board with a score of 249.50 and led teammate Mollie Patzke to a first and third place finish in the 3-meter event, scoring 299.65.
