HANNA NINER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Keller, Texas, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for competitions through October 18.
Niner fired a final-round 74, which tied for the low round of the day, to lead Trinity to a commanding victory at the Alamo City Classic at the Quarry Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas.
Niner had rounds of 79 and 74 to finish with a two-day score of 153 (+11) which was good for a runner-up finish among the 29 competing individuals.
The 17th-ranked Trinity women finished at 616 (+48), 22 shots clear of Hardin-Simmons University and 38 shots better than Southwestern.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Jessica Varner of Centenary College posted a three-day total of 242 (84-79-79) to lead the Ladies to a second place finish at "The Buc" at the Germantown (Tenn.) Country Club. She tied for second place among individuals and finished behind only a Division II golfer. Leilani McDaniel of Southwestern shots rounds of 80 and 77 to finish with a 157 and tied for fourth at the Alamo City Classic. Summer Swift of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to a fifth-place finish at the Alamo City Classic as she posted rounds of 79 and 85 to finish in 12th-place with a two-day score of 164.
