JESSICA VARNER OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a sophomore golfer from Baton Rouge, La., was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's Golfer of the Week for competitions through September 27.

Varner led the Ladies in the Al Jones Memorial tournament hosted by the University of Texas at Tyler, taking the individual title.

Varner posted a second round score of 74 (+2), which was the best of the entire tournament, to move into the top spot in a field of 59 golfers. She tallied six birdies, and posted the best scoring average on par-5 holes (4.75). 

The Ladies will compete next at "The Buc" hosted by Christian Brothers University in Memphis on October 17-18.
