MAGGIE WATTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a first-year right-handed pitcher from Arcadia, La., has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, March 12 through Sunday, March 18.

Watts appeared in all four games this weekend as the Crusaders went 3-1 at Austin College. The freshman claimed all three winning decisions - the first of her career - as she tossed a combined 15.2 innings, including 11 in her two starts. She held the 'Roos to a hit in the series opener through six frames and ended the week with a league-best 0.45 ERA as well as a 0.64 WHIP. At the plate in that first appearance, Watts went 2-for-3 and had an RBI, walk, and stolen base.

Watts is now 3-6 on the year with an ERA of 3.09 (seventh in the SCAC). She is second in the league in shutouts (2) and complete games (7) and third in innings pitched (54.1).
