ADRIENNE EDWARDS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore pitcher from Plano, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played through February 4th.
Edwards earned the win in both of her appearances to start the season, leading Trinity to its best-ever start in the SCAC era with road wins over McMurry and Hardin-Simmons.
Edwards was 2-0 with a 2.76 ERA, giving up five earned runs on 11 hits and striking out nine batters in 12.2 innings. She opened her season with a complete-game win on Friday, striking out five batters and holding the opposition to just five hits.
In addition to her pitching prowess, Edwards also helped her own cause by going 2-6 with two runs scored on offense.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore pitcher Tori Herrera of Schreiner University was 1-0 with a 1.40 ERA for the week.
